What a picturesque place for a wedding, Rancho Casa Luna. Set in the countryside a few miles from San Miguel de Allende, it was destined to be a beautiful outdoor wedding -- that is, until nature played a trick and sent in cool, wet weather. No worries, the wedding moved indoors -- adding a wonderful intimacy to the setting. These first two pictures were taken on the clear day before.

As the wedding party got ready, the band provided romantic Spanish music for the guests in the main house.
Family and friends visited with the groom out on the patio before the ceremony.
Soon it was time to be seated.
Michael, the groom, awaited his bride at the altar with his best man, Byron, and Miranda, the officiant.
The procession began, and all stood as father escorted daughter to her groom.
Parents and sister gave the wedding couple special gifts during the ceremony, but all the daughters were moved to tears as Mom read her card.
After the vows, Susan and Michael were officially husband and wife! Michael, welcome to our crazy but wonderful family.
Immediately following the ceremony, we toasted the new couple with tequila shots and shakers and a rather anxious burro. Then it was back to the house for la celebración.
Best. Guacamole. Ever.
Inside the dining area, colorful tables awaited the crowd. The food was outstanding.
The cake, a simple but elegant and traditional pastel de Tres Leche, was mouth-watering, as we'd discover later in the evening.
Byron was a very enthusiastic toast-giver.
Susan and Michael's first dance as husband and wife, a rumba.
Byron led a few dance lessons, and more dancing followed. Good times.
Toward evening's end, Susan and Michael cut their first piece of that delicious wedding cake together. It was a delightful, heart-warming evening from start to finish.
